And so to another stupidly early Sunday morning start for the SS-R car nuts ,
arriving at Harthill services between Glasgow and Edinburgh around eight o clock !!!!
The weather was changeable but the driving rain was holding off for a ahort time at least.
After a caffeine injection and some McFood we travelled up to Glenrothes to Star Performance.
The owner (Jim) was there to meet us bright and early in his rather tasty Mitsibushi Evo.
The gates opened and Marc took charge herding the keen throngs into an orderly queue for the rollers.
One by one ,like Noahs Ark they went in to be tied down and put through their paces.
Jim would then provide some invaluable feedback on the results and hand you a nice shiny printed power output graph to show your mates :-)
The mix of cars was as ever eclectic , ranging from the normally aspirated to twin turbo and from fwd to 4wd.
Whatever your choice of powerplant they all sang a great tune on the dyno :-)
Highpoints of the day to name but a few were :
1) The FTO's taken to a positively stratospheric 8500rpm and beyond!!!! Scary.
2) An M3 Roadster with an arse like J-Lo and packing a punch many Jap imports would be proud of. Lurvly
Jim ran through the cars quickly and by one oclock we were done and headed off for food.
In summary a great day for all who attended. The printouts providing invaluable data as to any problems if present.
Big thanks to Marc for getting a date with Star and Kim for organising the event in general.
Roll on the next event.................Team SS-R
